When I decided to do my first photoshoot I knew it just had to be in the beautiful streets of Soho. I found a photographer through one of the lovely bloggers I follow, Brookecarriehil. I love her style and how her photos are taken. Many bloggers have their own style of photos, whether it be with how they edit them or what poses they are going for, I simply just connect better with her work and how she manages her blog in general so I knew I could definitely trust this photographers work! He turned out to be very friendly, helpful and super comfortable to be around (these are a must when doing shoots). His name on Instagram is Gabearaujo, definitely check him out!
Here are some BTS photos!
For my shoot, I decided to do a very simple, elegant look. I went with an all black approach in my little Storets, polka dot dress. I added some accessories such as my black Gucci clutch along with a tennis bracelet and some rings!
Some tips I will give my followers is to
1. Have so much fun with it and be yourself. It can be a little weird in the beginning having all these people watching you pose but people do enjoy it as well. Photography and blogging is an art so just do what you really want with it. Pose how you want and dress the way you feel most comfy!
2. Make sure you find great spots around the city. I was mainly on Green street and Lafayette in Soho. I definitely am planning on switching my scenes up soon, most likely around the Flat Iron District!
3. Find a great photographer. Gabe was very inexpensive and knew a lot of places we could go to shoot. He does unlimited photos up until you are happy and feel you really got your money's worth. For every outfit he is $40, which was awesome.
4. Make sure your hair and makeup are on point! I did my own makeup and hair I got done at the salon.
Overall, my first experience shooting in Soho was great. I ended up eating right at NOMO, my fav restaurant!
Hope you enjoy the photos and the blog for the day!
